“It was notable for being the first vehicle set to feature the snap-on removable wheels which would eventually supplant the solid metal axles for Town and Space vehicles over the coming years. The jack element was also new for 1984.”

“The Auto and Tire Repair set is a compact but functional build from the 1980s Town theme. It features a unique LEGO car jack that works as intended, a tire balancing machine, and a classic minifigure with a printed work uniform. The alternate builds, including a buggy and a tractor, add variety, while the car includes charming details like opening doors and a tilting hood.”

About Town Shops and Services

Shops and Services holds the shops, garages and petrol stations of LEGO Town from 1980 to 2003. 6390 Main Street opened the line in 1980, a row of shops with 8 minifigures, and garages, car repair shops and service stations made up much of the rest, often with Shell logos in Europe and Exxon in North America until LEGO's own Octan brand replaced them. Food arrived with 6683 Hamburger Stand in 1983, 6376 Breezeway Cafe in 1990 and 6350 Pizza To Go in 1994.

Shops and Services consists of 29 sets that ran from 1980 to 2003. As of today, 6390 Main Street is the most valuable Shops and Services set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $3,099.
