Set Facts

In December 2022, LEGO's product archive, "The Vault," was relocated to the top floor of the former woodworking factory, built in 1942, to accommodate a growing collection. The Vault now holds over 9,000 LEGO sets, arranged chronologically from 1958 to the present. The exhibit includes cases displaying wooden and plastic toys from LEGO's early days.
There’s also a green LEGO 3D-printed duck in the display shelves, which is a new color variant of the red version which was handed out to select participants at AFOL Day 2023 at the LEGO House.

The LEGO sets which are part of the model have been carefully selected to represent some of the most iconic sets and product lines throughout LEGO history. You will find sets representing LEGO City, LEGO Technic, LEGO Friends, LEGO Fabuland", LEGO MINDSTORMS® and so on. And then there are the items specifically selected by Henrik Andersen to give this set that special, personal touch. These include sets Henrik was gifted as a child, some that he has designed during his many years working as a LEGO designer and, finally, a set which was chosen as a tribute to a late LEGO designer colleague.
The 2024 Inside Tour set, LEGO 4000042 The Vault Memory Lane, replicates the design of the LEGO vault safe visited during the Inside Tour.
This set includes a dark green, 3D-printed duck model, a rare piece previously released only once at a 2022 LEGO House event.
Designed by Stuart Harris with final adjustments by Henrik Andersen, the set's back pattern matches the exterior of the building where the vault is located.
The Vault Memory Lane was designed by LEGO designer Stuart Harris.

About Exclusive LEGO Inside Tour Exclusive

The LEGO Inside Tour in Billund, Denmark is an annual exclusive event that is held a few times a year to a very limited number of attendees through a raffle type sign-up process. Lucky attendees of this 2-5 day experience learn how LEGO bricks are produced, meet the designers and take a tour through the LEGO Group’s unique history in Ole Kirk's original house featuring an extraordinary exhibition of LEGO sets and models that date back to 1934. At the end of the tour, each participant receives a LEGO set exclusively produced for the LEGO Inside Tour in cooperation with Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen to take home. These sets are exclusive to the tour only and maintain a considerable value on the secondary markets.
