LEGO 600-1 Basic Set is a Classic Basic Set released in 1963. This early pre-minifigure set was sold only in the United Kingdom and Australia, making it a regional release within LEGO’s early Basic assortment. It consisted of blue and yellow bricks along with a selection of specialty elements, including wheels, transparent bricks and slopes, printed white bricks, and white plates. The contents were intended for open-ended building rather than a single model, which was typical of Basic sets from the early 1960s.

About Classic Basic Set

These are the plain LEGO basic sets of the 1960s, boxes of bricks without a theme, sold for building whatever the owner liked. They came in cardboard boxes in a range of sizes, numbered by size. Promotions were part of the story too. Sets were made for the New York World's Fair of 1964, and in 1969 small sets were given away with Quaker's Life cereal in the United States. One modern set, 10654 XL Creative Brick Box from 2016, is filed here as well.

Basic Set consists of 23 sets that ran from 1963 to 2016. As of today, 080 Basic Building Set with Train is the most valuable Basic Set set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $3,388.
