LEGO 2021 Sets

In 2021 LEGO proved once again to be a supurb year for collectors with the release of 723 sets, many highly sought after. This included 151 promotional and special released sets in addition to the 572 retail sets released through LEGO.com, the LEGO store and various other retail channels.

Based on the 723 sets released for that year, the retail value was $31,465.57 with a current value of $41,718.05 for the combined new/factory sealed sets. As of present, the best performing theme for 2021 is currently BrickLink which has seen an average annual growth of upwards of 17% to date.

In 2021, LEGO continued its trajectory of product expansion and innovation. One notable addition was the "LEGO VIDIYO" theme, introduced in partnership with Universal Music Group, which combined physical sets with a digital music video making experience. The company also expanded the "LEGO Art" series, allowing adults and older fans to create wall art based on various franchises. Existing themes like "Star Wars," "City," "Technic," and others received new set additions. Sustainability efforts were underscored with the announcement of prototype bricks made from recycled plastic.
